Amblyseius cucumeris (Neoseiulus cucumeris) - is a predatory mite from the phytoseiidae family that eats the larvae of thrips, as well as adults, nymphs and eggs of spider mites, strawberry, rusty, cyclamen and some other phytophagous mites.
As a polyphagous, it can survive on honeydew and pollen, so its preventive introduction to crops with abundant pollen, such as bell peppers or eggplant, is effective. Amblyseius cucumeris eats one thrips larva per day, making it worth introducing it as a preventive measure before the pest population becomes too large. In search of food, ticks penetrate into secluded places, in particular into rosebuds. Can eat eggs of Phytoseiulus persimilis when used simultaneously. The tick has a beige color and reaches up to 0.6 mm in length, and they themselves are larger than males. Does not go into diapause. Often used in conjunction with entomophages that control other stages of thrips.
Advantages: since the sachet contains adults, nymphs and entomophage eggs, the exit of the predator from the bag will occur within 4 weeks, which will ensure long-term protection of the culture.
