Huwa San is an effective broad spectrum disinfectant that has proven itself in greenhouse applications, both in equipment disinfection and disease control. The product has bactericidal and fungicidal properties, its effectiveness against pathogens from the genera Alernaria, Botrytis, Сylindroсladium, Fusarium, Phytophthora, Rizostonia, Clavibaster and Ralstonia has been confirmed.

The active ingredient in Huwa San is hydrogen peroxide with a small amount of colloidal silver added. 1 kg of Huwa San contains 493 g of hydrogen peroxide (H2O2) and 0.32 g of silver (Ag).

Application: the drug is applied by spraying greenhouse equipment, leaves, branches and soil, treating the root system of seedlings before laying the garden, as well as by supplying it with water through a drip irrigation system.

For spraying the garden, a working solution based on Huwa San is prepared at the rate of 2 liters of the drug per 1000 liters of water. At this concentration, hydrogen peroxide applied to the leaf surface quickly decomposes, and the plant receives an additional portion of oxygen released during decomposition.

The same thing happens when Huwa San solution is added to the root zone: the additional oxygen rate inhibits the development of infections, promotes better root development. Hydrogen peroxide destroys the enzymes that are responsible for the cellular respiration of microorganisms (bacteria, fungi), as a result of which they die a few minutes after treatment with the drug.

Mechanism of action: the mechanism of action of hydrogen peroxide excludes the formation of resistance to it in microorganisms. Studies carried out in 2011 at the Krakow Agricultural University (Poland) showed that hydrogen peroxide, applied in low concentrations to living plant tissues, not only suppresses harmful biota, but also actively participates in the synthesis of lignin, from which plant cell walls are built. In turn, this makes plant cells resistant to the penetration of micropathogens (bacteria, fungal spores, etc.). Also, hydrogen peroxide in low concentrations induces in plants the synthesis of jasmine and salicylic acids, which are responsible for resistance to adverse environmental conditions (frosts during flowering, etc.). There is also an important effect that colloidal silver has on plants: as in medicine, silver destroys the infection that has settled in plant tissues. Thanks to the content of colloidal silver, Huwa San promotes wound healing in plants.

Safety of the preparation: a feature of the Huwa San preparation is its complete biodegradation (decomposition into compounds harmless to dowkill) already 2 hours after application. Studies conducted in 2006 at Hasselt University (Diepenbeek, Belgium) showed that apples and oranges immersed for 15, 30, 60, 120 and 240 minutes in a 0.4% solution of Huwa San and then placed on fresh air, already after 2 hours did not contain any traces of hydrogen peroxide and colloidal silver. That is why Huwa San is allowed to be used in organic crop production in a number of EU countries.
